Dharma Zephyr Sangha
Dharma Zephyr Sangha is named after the local afternoon wind, the Washoe Zephyr, which Mark Twain reported carried “things living and dead, that flittered hither and thither, going and coming, hats, chickens and parasols sailing through the remote heavens; blankets, tin signs and sagebrush a shade lower; doormats and buffalo hides lower still; shovels and coal scuttles on the next grade; glass doors, cats and little children on the next; disrupted lumberyards, light buggies and wheelbarrows on the next, and down only thirty or forty feet above ground. . .
a scurrying storm of emigrating roofs and vacant lots.” We first began sitting together in 1990 in living rooms and offices in Carson City and Washoe Valley. We find there is an interest in Buddhist meditation in northern Nevada, as evidenced by the consistent turnout at our retreats. Sangha members have taught a class in Buddhist meditation at the Reno YMCA. We strive to be as strong in our practice as the Washoe Zephyr is every afternoon. address: 6205 Franktown Road, Carson City, NV 89704 phone: (702) 882-1662 lineage: All American spiritual head: None/all contact: Christy Z.
