Thubten Choling

Jhampa, a monk for fourteen years in India, established this center in 1984. Thubten Choling now offers a meditation hall, one acre of land for quiet walks around our stupa, and a small suite for use by retreatants. Weekly teachings are offered along with occasional weekend retreats. The teachings are given by both Maria and Jhampa Shaneman and offer a pleasant adaptation of Tibetan Buddhism to a Western cultural setting. English is the medium for prayer and meditation. With our proximity to the Cowichan River and land reserve, we are truly the western paradise.
